The excellent Conformis total knee system is rebranding under its new ownership, restor3d. I have implanted thousands of these knees over the last decade and continue to love the system. Using customized knee replacement technology we provide a truly personalized approach to your joint care. Unlike traditional "off-the-shelf" implants that can force compromises on fit, rotation, and alignment, this system uses a diagnostic CT scan to create a precise 3D model of your unique anatomy. From this model, your implant is individually designed and 3D printed to match the exact shape and curvature of your knee. This tailored approach is designed for optimal bone preservation and strictly maintains your natural medial and lateral joint lines, helping to prevent the "wobbly" feeling of post-surgical instability. By restoring your knee's natural geometry rather than substituting it with standardized sizes, this customized implant offers the potential for a more natural-feeling joint and minimizes the pain often associated with sizing compromises.

Journey II
Smith and Nephew implants can be made from a proprietary metal called Oxinium which is free of Nickel making it safe for patients with most metal allergies. An added advantage of the Oxinium is that it has the least friction of any available implant system. Smith and Nephew is the only company allowed by the FDA to advertise as a “30 year knee”. I do this procedure with guidance from the CORI Robotic System, which allows for very accurate sizing of the implant and customization of the bone alignment in the knee to make it easier to get the ligaments appropriately balanced.
